Drew Lindsey is an Assistant Director in the International Affairs and Trade (IAT) team at the U.S. Government Accountability Office (GAO). His portfolio of work has covered a range of issues, including economic sanctions, export controls, foreign assistance, and arms transfers. Prior to joining GAO, Mr. Lindsey worked as an Associate Economist at RTI International, where he conducted evaluations of state and national tobacco control campaigns. Mr. Lindsey holds a Master’s Degree in Public Policy with focus on International Security from Harvard’s Kennedy School of Government and a Bachelor’s degree in Economics from Davidson College.
Farahnaaz Khakoo-Mausel is an Assistant Director with the U.S Government Accountability Office (GAO) an independent, nonpartisan agency that works for Congress. Since 2019, she manages a portfolio area in the Science, Technology Assessment and Analytics team, where she leads work on U.S. research security, oversight on artificial intelligence systems and government-wide efforts to harmonize regulations and administrative tasks in the research environment. Farahnaaz also represents GAO in the International Organization of Supreme Audit Institutions where she supports efforts for the Working Group on Science and Technology.
From 2006 through 2018, she was a senior policy analyst at GAO with the International Affairs and Trade team. She has worked on a range of issue areas including poverty reduction, debt relief, agricultural development, trade capacity, foreign assistance and funding. In 2010-2011, she took a detail with the Special Inspector General for Afghanistan Development as a senior policy analyst, where she worked on agricultural development issues.
Farahnaaz received a Ph.D. in Public Policy and Political Economics, Masters of Science in Applied Economics and Masters of Public Affairs from the University of Texas at Dallas. She received a Bachelor of Arts degree in Political Science from the University of North Texas.
