The NIH Data Management and Sharing Policy is set to go into effect in January 2023. As a new, broader policy, institutions may need to build or enhance existing services and infrastructure to meet compliance and implementation responsibilities. This requires cross-campus coordination between the VPR's office, the library, IT, and others. COGR and the Association of Research Libraries hosted an institutional panel that includes representatives from campus libraries, the office of scientific integrity, research offices, and IT from Duke University and the University of Delaware. These representatives provided cross-functional perspectives on how their institution is collaboratively developing solutions to implement the new policy.
Panelists include:
Duke University
Lindsey L. Spangler, Associate Dean, Research Integrity
Tim McGeary, Associate University Librarian for Digital Strategies and Technology
University of Delaware
Jeff Friedland, Associate Vice President for Research Administration
John Huffman, Director of Research Cyberinfrastructure
Annie Johnson, Associate University Librarian for Publishing, Preservation, Research, and Digital Access
